Capitão Couves - Sculpture

It's been a while since I posted my last work, because I've been really busy working on a children animation serie.

Here it goes a little sculpture I made with modelling paste. This material is really difficult to handle, and the figure has only 8 cm, but in the end I was very happy with the result.

Here are the shots I've animated for the first episode of GÉGÉ (the mascot of TPA - Angola Public Television) a Tv Children's Animation Serie developed at Facilidades e Filmes

I was also responsible for modeling the main character (the two versions - red and green pajamas), his father, as well as texturing and UV Layout both of them

It’s just another day in the life of Antonio, the postman of a Portuguese prison full of sadness and moans. However on that day, Antonio has an idea to make the prison more joyful and decides to rip the letters and glue its pieces to create texts outside the normal. By delivering the letters to the female prisoners, them, who expected another letter like many others, became amazed and happy with the difference of those texts.

Maniche Caricature

Maniche is a former player of the Portuguese national team. I wanted to create player's feeling of patriotism, standing with his hand on his chest and on top of the football field.
I made this image for an illustration contest promoted by Fnac Portugal, in which I got a place in the 23 finalists :)

Caricaturized Self-Portrait

I started working on this image for a Creative Challenge promoted by 3D world mag. After the deadline, I decided to give extra details in the clothes, improve the fur and do a little post-production.

Cymbal - Dance Floor Scene

This is an image from a short movie I'm making about a clapping monkey who lives in one attic.
In this scene Cymbal (the name of the character) is dreaming about his old times when he was the king of the Dance Floor
I started this movie 2 years ago, but I still didn't had time to finish it

"MOMMY'S SONG"

A widower still in love remembers his beloved wife playing for his children their mother's favourite song.

The piano, the glass and the ashtray were done in Maya, all of the rest was painted in Photoshop

"FURRYOUS MONKEY"

Hey people,

Here it goes a final render with post-production of one of my monkeys. I used photolooks to make some color adjustments. I still want to make some funny renders with this character, because I made a good facial rig that I want to explore in several crazy poses.

"MighTworld - Teaser"

These are some shots of a teaser I made when I was working at Nebula-Studios to promote a facebook app called "MighT - A new talent world".
I made all of the Animation, Rigging, Cloth Simulation, Shading, Lighting and Tracking, while Guilherme Afonso made the Post-Production and João Pires made two run cycles that were mainly used in the hallway and parking lot shots. 

"iPad SCULPT"

This is a skecth I made on my friend´s Ipad using the amazing app "123D Sculpt" from Autodesk, and after I finished it, I tryed to simulate some passes in Photoshop like occlusion, shadows, rim light, back Scatter, epiderm, zdepth, flat color and reflection. 

"IGNACIO" - Personal Character - WIP

I made the concept, modeling, texturing and facial rigg for this character, which I intend to use in some illustrations

"Yorn Tv Spots" - NEBULA-STUDIOS

In this "Yorn Cuccina" tv spot I modeled the shotgun hanging on the fireplace, and the cupboard at the back

For this "Yorn Opa" tv spot I modeled the dynamite and made some tweaks in the safe

"AKI - Piggy Bank" - NEBULA-STUDIOS

I modeled this Piggy Bank at Nebula-Studios, which later was the basis to emmite particles, that was done by Rui Santos
